Dragon Knight Medallion Order of the Dragon Knights Book 2 edition by Mary Morgan Romance eBooks

Dragon Knight's Medallion the 2nd book in the Order of the Dragon Knights Series was great. I loved it almost as much as the first one. Stephen was sexy, surly, and very serious. Aileen was sweet, and brave. I really liked the two of them together. I did feel they took too long to get together. Not so long that it ruined anything just so long that I was kinda like come on already lol. I liked getting to catch up with Duncan and Brigid. I really loved the way the brothers reunited. It was so cute and Manly! The bad guy just gets eviler in this book. Aileen's dad was super cute. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I'm loving this series. I'm on to Alastair's book.

Dragon Knight Medallion Order of the Dragon Knights Book 2 edition by Mary Morgan Romance eBooks Reviews

Mary Morgan's Order of the Dragon Knights series continues with the second installment, Dragon Knight's Medallion.

This story follows the journey of quest redemption of Stephen MacKay, A member of the MacKay clan from the 11th century, Stephen was one of four brothers who deeply grieves the death of his sister Meggie upon holy ground. The night of her death, all four brothers were chastised by the Guardian who removed their sacred relics. Stephen's relic was the medallion. He also has the gift of seeing into the future. Although when seeing a vision, Stephen experiences head pain and seizures. Stephen exiles himself from his home of Urquhart Castle in Scotland. He finds a small bit of solace in Arboath Abbey, learning and accepting the 'new' religion of Christianity.

In present day, Aileen Kerrigan lives in Boston, MA. After the death of her beloved mother a few years back, Aileen's father left for an archeology dig in Scotland never to return. Aileen ended up living in her family home with her Aunt Lily and other members of the Society of the Thistle. The society deals with history and preservation of historical herb and plants. Each member of the society has a unique gift, being psychic or healing. Aileen's gift is being a psychic. Naturally, there is a bit of friction between Aileen and her father. After the death of her mother, Aileen felts her father abandoned her when she needed him the most. Because of her own grief, she was unable to understand her father's own grief of is loss.

Just as in the first book of the series, Aileen is brought to Scotland to fulfill her destiny.

Being that the setting and many characters were set up in the first story, the pace of this story is much smoother. Dragon Knight's Medallion was an interesting story which made it an good read. Mary Morgan has excellent writing skills and must have terrific editors as there are few (if any) spelling, grammatical or sentence structure errors in her books. I would encourage a reader to start with book one of the series before reading this book. Dragon Knight's Medallion (Order of the Dragon Knights Book 2)
This is a story of faeries, dragons, feuding clans and sworn enemies...time travel, druids, and...oh let's see what else...relics, ancient artifacts, curses and legends. It's a good fantastical story of the battle between religions in medieval Scotland. Between Pagan worship and ushering in of the new religion of One God. I thought it was well told, however I''m one of those people who needs a strong character visual pretty much out the starting gate to connect with book characters. Ms. Morgan gives us a visual of what our characters look like...yes it's true. But the details/descriptions trickle in. How old are Stephen and Aileen? Even a hint or a "thereabouts" would be appreciated.

Stephen MacKay is a Dragon Knight and part Fae. He has the gift of visions (sometimes able to see the future)..and the power to manipulate and control water. Since the death of his sister, he and his brothers were stripped of the relics that give them power by the Faery Guardians. Stephen's medallion was taken from him and now his visions are becoming more intense and painful to bear without it.

Aileen Kerrigan is from Boston. She was born with gifts of her own. And when her archeological father calls her and the other members of "The Society of the Thistle" to come to Scotland to assist him, she reluctantly agrees to go. Aileen is still grieving the one year death of her mother and her grief has left her powers weak. Combined with a bitter break-up, Aileen is living on the brink of total seclusion and Scotland is the last place she wants to go. She feels her father abandoned her in her time of grief and he's the last person she wants to see.

This is a good paranormal romance with just enough romantic edge. It has the usual false assumptions and misunderstandings, and I liked the story. It carries better after reading the first book Dragon Knight's Sword (Order of the Dragon Knights Book 1). I enjoyed this book more than the first book only because the long historical details were already laid into the foundation and didn't need to be repeated. But I didn't like 13th century characters sometimes using modern terminology and expressions. And why did Aileens father call "The Society" to Scotland in the first place? He never really needs their help in his archeological digs. In fact it's often stated how he wanted to protect Aileen from a vision of her death in Scotland...so why did he call for her to come? It's never explained. This story is worthy of 4 stars, but it's a book I wouldn't read again due to all the questions and poor character connection.
